What “clinically proven” is claiming

When a weight-loss supplement says “clinically proven,” the wording suggests that research has settled the question. It has not. The phrase does not tell you what was tested, how strong the evidence was, or whether researchers studied the bottle currently being sold. It could refer to one ingredient, a different extract, a small study, or an outcome such as appetite ratings rather than sustained weight loss. The claim also is not an FDA seal of approval. Check whether the study was published, whether conflicts are disclosed, and whether independent researchers found similar results. Supplements can cause side effects and interact with medications or health conditions.
